Duferco Energia is looking for a freelance professional with expertise in the residential and non-residential building construction industry to join the team currently working in this field, by organizing the contracting activities of such works.
Role and Responsibilities
The professional will be in charge of coordinating and supervising the project from the quotation to the construction phase, with greater emphasis on the latter, ensuring progress according to the established schedules and to the extent of his/her responsibility.
All this, in line with the Company General Guidelines.
Areas of Interest
We are specifically looking for freelancers in the following areas:
- Liguria
- Emilia Romagna
- Northeast Italy (Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Trentino Alto Adige)
- Sicily
- Province of Sondrio
Specifically, the company is seeking one person for each one of the four areas listed above.
Tasks
The professional must be fully competent on the tasks (which shall be followed by the Applicant during his/her service) listed below:
- Technical and economic analyses on specifications and tenders
- Energy diagnosis analyses for energy efficiency interventions on building enclosures
- Project analyses for building seismic retrofitting
- Metric calculation analyses
- Ability to analyze providers’ offers and quotes
- Project implementation cost forecasting, abiding corporate standards
- Drafting active contracts, abiding corporate standards
- Checking providers’ quotes and drafting technical documents for procurement of goods and services
- Coordination and supervision of site activities
- Construction site documentation
- Construction site accounting
- Cost variation during construction
- Progress of site activities, according to the work schedule
Requirements
At least a 10-year experience in construction sites
Excellent project management skills
Problem-solving attitude

Activities:
The candidate will have to:
- analyze and monitor the position of the trading power portfolio
- propose trading strategies to be discussed with the team
- build decision support models
- manage the exposure resulting from the trading position
Skills:
- Degree in scientific and/or economic disciplines
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and basic knowledge of data analysis software (Python, R, Matlab) and databases (SQL)
- Entrepreneurship and result-oriented
- Knowledge of English is essential
- Previous work experience in the field of trading power of companies operating in the energy sector is a plus.

Activities - The candidate will have to:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for the purchase of electricity from physical assets
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with energy producers
- Negotiate long and short-term contracts (PPA - Power Purchase Agreements).
- Monitor and analyze energy market trends
- Develop business strategies to maximize profits and manage market risks
- Keep up to date with energy regulations and new opportunities in the energy sector
Skills:
- Degree in scientific and/or economic disciplines
- Knowledge of the Office package
- Availability to travel (including by car)
- Entrepreneurship and results-oriented
- Knowledge of English is essential
- Previous work experience in an Origination desk of a company operating in the energy sector is a plus

Job profile information
The activities
- Develop the architecture for deployment of models and prototypes to support trading decisions
- End to end deployment of models, from data analysis to monitoring of live execution
- The application of the models covers: forecast of prices in the energy trading markets, forecast of demand for Gas and Power consumption, optimal dispatch of energy, analysis of weather variables, implementation of buy and sell signals for algo trading strategies.
Skills
- Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or any other quantitative subjects
- Experience in model development by means of Machine Learning algorithm (e.g. classification, regression, clustering)
- Professional knowledge of software for data analysis (python, R, MATLAB)
- Professional knowledge of relational databases (SQL)
- Experience in software development
- Project management of model development both in collaboration with other data scientists and autonomously
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of versioning systems (Git)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure)
- Experience in a trading environment (in any asset class)
